POKOTABI / Shun Yuki
旬遊紀
A closer look at Shun Yuki inside Hotel Gajoen Tokyo, from signature roasted Peking duck and dashi-rich savory egg custards to customizable lunch courses and specialty Chinese teas.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Located on the 1th floor of Hotel Gajoen Tokyo, Shun Yuki serves authentic Chinese cuisine built around seasonal ingredients in an opulent setting. With dining spaces ranging from ornate private rooms recreated from the former Meguro Gajoen to a bright main hall, the restaurant is a perennial choice for celebratory banquets, family gatherings, and special occasions.
Centerpieces of the multi-course meals include meats such as roasted Peking duck crisped in a specialty oven and duck prepared in a smoked style. Broth-based courses also enjoy high praise, including refined chawanmushi custards enriched with crab tomalley or shrimp, as well as indulgent braised dishes featuring shark fin.
Lunch courses add the pleasure of choosing your own concluding savory dish. Choices of noodles and rice are generous, spanning fragrant pan-fried thin noodles, comforting soup noodles with garland chrysanthemum wontons, extra-rich soy milk dandan noodles, and olive oil fried rice. Desserts such as coconut almond jelly with tapioca and snow-flake shaved ice follow, keeping the meal satisfying from start to finish.
The tea selection is equally diverse, featuring blooming display teas like "Venus" that unfurl into a large peony, Tung-ting oolong tea, and aged Pu'er with its distinct mature aroma. Savored over multiple hot-water refills, Chinese tea provides a leisurely finale to a multi-course meal.
